Cyclotron PET800

the PETtrace 800 Series Cyclotron is in installation and commissioning phase at the Karachi Institute of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine (KIRAN). This marks a significant milestone in strengthening Pakistan’s capacity for advanced PET radiopharmaceutical production and precision molecular imaging. The PETtrace 800 platform will enhance in-house production of PET isotopes, supporting oncology imaging, theranostics, and personalized treatment strategies. With the growing clinical demand for PET/CT imaging and targeted radionuclide therapies, this development reflects our commitment to innovation, quality assurance, radiation safety, and patient-centered care. From site preparation and radiation shielding validation to system testing, activity calibration, and regulatory compliance, the commissioning process represents strong collaboration between medical physicists, radiochemists, engineers, and clinical teams.
