Clinical Laboratory

The Department of Labs at KIRAN is a well-established and comprehensive clinical laboratory facility with a strong focus on diagnostic services, especially in the context of cancer and allied patients. Our Clinical Laboratory facilities are equipped with the latest technology and equipment, providing a variety of tests that help diagnose and monitor medical conditions specially cancers, from routine screening and pathological workup and diagnostic markers to some advanced genetic testing. The department is organized into five sections: The five sections within the department cover a wide range of laboratory testing and services, allowing for a diverse set of diagnostic capabilities. Here's a breakdown of the key features and functions of each section: 1.Phlebotomy and Sample Collection 2.Clinical Chemistry: 3.Hematology 4.Immunoassay and Special Chemistry 5.PCR and Genomics Lab

Hematology focuses on the study of blood, blood-forming tissues, and disorders related to the blood. This section is involved in the diagnosis and monitoring of conditions such as anemia, blood clotting disorders, and as routine screening and followup tests for patients on chemotherapy and radiation.

Clinical chemistry tests are essential for diagnosing and monitoring a wide range of medical conditions, including diabetes, kidney function, and liver function. More than eighty parameters are available for testing.

Immunoassay and Special Chemistry are used to measure the concentration of specific molecules, such as hormones, proteins, or antibodies, in a patient's sample. This section likely plays a critical role in diagnosing and monitoring of certain cancers. Thyroid hormonal testings, tumor markers for diagnosing and follow up treatment of cancers, vitamin-D and other Immunoassays are routinely run in this lab. The PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) and Genomics Lab is particularly significant for advanced genetic testing. Hepatitis B, C and Delta viruses (qualitative and quantitatively) and advanced genetic testing like BRCA1 & BRCA2 for heriditary breast and ovarian cancers. It likely handles DNA analysis and sequencing, which can aid in the identification of genetic mutations and the assessment of cancer risk. Genomic testing is becoming increasingly important in personalized medicine. Research work on cancer genetics, diagnostics and molecular biology like micro-RNA are the main focus of research in our lab.

PCR and Genomics lab

The PCR and Genomics lab at KIRAN offers advanced genetic testing for cancer diagnosis, risk assessment, and personalized treatment. Using the latest technology and equipment, the lab can perform PCR tests for hepatitis B, C, and Delta viruses, as well as BRCA1 and BRCA2 tests for hereditary breast and ovarian cancers. The lab also conducts research on cancer genetics, diagnostics, and molecular biology, such as micro-RNA.

Immunoassay and Special chemistry Lab

The Immunoassay and Special chemistry Lab at KIRAN provides a range of tests that measure the concentration of specific molecules in a patient’s sample. These tests can help diagnose and monitor certain cancers, such as thyroid, prostate, and ovarian cancers. The lab also offers tests for vitamin-D and other immunoassays that are essential for health and wellness.

Pathological Lab

The Pathological Lab at KIRAN is a comprehensive clinical laboratory facility that performs a variety of tests for cancer and allied patients. The lab covers routine screening and pathological workup, as well as diagnostic markers that can help determine the type, stage, and aggressiveness of cancer. The lab is equipped with the latest technology and equipment and follows the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Blood Collection and Lab reporting

The Blood Collection and Lab reporting section at KIRAN is responsible for collecting and processing blood samples from patients for various laboratory tests. The section ensures that the blood samples are handled with care and safety, and that the results are reported in a timely and accurate manner. The section also provides guidance and support to patients and clinicians regarding the blood collection and lab reporting process.
